Comprehensive Study of the Impact of Unbalanced Loading on Power Losses and Voltage Quality in Distribution Systems
2024 IEEE 25th International Conference of Young Professionals in Electron Devices and Materials (EDM) 28 June 2024 – 02 July 2024 · Altai, Russian Federation
Research overview
This study examines power losses and voltage quality when distribution-system loading is unbalanced. It brings these two outcomes into the same research question, since a voltage-quality assessment alone does not describe the losses in the network.
Research context
The paper continues the distribution-network work presented at EDM 2023. Consult the publisher version for the network model, operating conditions and numerical results.

The slides introduce three- and four-wire compensation arrangements, line modelling and the IEEE 4-bus study network, then compare losses and voltage-related quantities as load conditions and power factor change.
